Tier I Team Training*

This session will establish systems, data use, and practices at the Tier I level. School teams will learn and action plan around implementation of the core features of Tier I PBIS, including: leadership team composition and operating procedures; defining, teaching, and acknowledging behavioral expectations; classroom procedures; involving faculty, students, and families; data-based decision making; and monitoring for fidelity of implementation. Implementing Tier I with fidelity is associated with a strong increase in the pro-social culture and climate of the building, and a decrease in office discipline referrals and other negative behaviors.

* Tier I Team training is for full school teams including the building administrator, a designated school-based PBIS coach, and typically four to six additional Tier I team members (faculty, staff representatives; family representatives; clinical staff, etc.).  District-based PBIS coaches are also encouraged to participate with school teams.

During this interactive training, your team will learn the features of Tier I PBIS as well as have time to develop an action plan for implementation. The training is aligned to the Tiered Fidelity Inventory (TFI), which will support your team in having a solid foundation for the features of Tier I and ability to continue to assess implementation using TFI. Click here for complete description and downloadable materials.

Tier II Team Training

This training session is designed to help teams and schools develop the capacity for an effective and efficient continuum of Tier II supports for youth. School teams will be supported in the establishment of a Secondary Systems Planning Team, learning how to use universal data to target groups of students in need of Tier II support and assessing the fidelity of interventions/supports provided. Teams will explore the critical features of Tier II interventions and how they are applied to the Check-In-Check Out (CICO) intervention and the systems and data necessary for successful installation. Teams will be supported in developing their CICO system including their DPR, referral, acknowledgement system, and plan for progress monitoring. Click here for complete description and downloadable materials.

FBA/BIP

This session will provide coaches, administrators, team members, and other classroom management leads the professional learning necessary to begin to implement 8 identified classroom management practices/components in a systemic, efficient, and effective way. Click here for complete description and downloadable materials.

Wraparound

This training session will provide an overview of the systems, data, and practices of the wraparound process as a Tier III/Tertiary Level Intervention.  Primary focus will be on increasing implementers' knowledge and fluency with the wraparound process, including development of individual teams and plans that are strength-based and tailored to the comprehensive need of each student/family. Emphasis will be given to the intensive, comprehensive wraparound process of supporting and planning for the "whole child" & "whole family." FBA-BIP Follow-Up TA

This session is specifically designed for FBA/BIP facilitators who have already been trained in FBA/BIP and are currently developing individualized plans for students. In this session we will use live student plans to dig deeper and gain a greater understanding of how to do Function Based Assessments so that the hypothesis statement is accurate and can guide the BIP development process, how to identify function-based strategies to help strengthen the BIPs, and how to continue to help our stakeholders engage in function-based thinking to make our plans as effective as possible.
Please come to this session with a completed Competing Behavior Pathway and Behavior Intervention Plan completed on one student from your setting. Please make sure all identifying information is taken off of your document. These plans will be used to facilitate the learning process throughout the day. Click here* for complete description and downloadable materials.
SWIS/TIPS

This session will review all aspects of data-based decision making utilizing SWIS data as well as the Team Initiated Problem Solving (TIPS) Model and Process. The value of data based decision making and how SWIS/TIPS can assist with this process will be demonstrated. Click here for complete description and downloadable materials.

Wednesday, February 7th
Tier I Booster

This booster is designed for school teams who have been trained in Tier I Team Training since 2015, with the curriculum aligned to the Tiered Fidelity Inventory.  This training emphasizes core modules from the full Tier 1 Team training, to boost full fidelity of implementation. Teams will leave with a concrete action plan to boost their implementation. Click here for complete description and downloadable materials.

Tier II Booster

This booster is designed for school teams who have already been trained in Tier II Team Training and want another dose of the same concepts taught in Tier II. (This training is not intended to be a full Tier II training, but rather an opportunity for folks who were already trained 2+ years ago, have a new team member on the Tier II team, or simply want to hear the latest and greatest messages again). This Tier II Booster is aligned with the Tiered Fidelity Inventory (TFI) and will give teams the opportunity to self assess in each of the 13 components of Tier II. Teams will have some time to work on creating an action plan aligned with each component and will hopefully leave with a concrete action plan to improve their implementation.Click here for complete description and downloadable materials.

Thursday, February 8th
Tier I District and Building Coaching

School administrators and coaches will prepare to lead their school through the planning and implementation of PBIS. These leaders will learn the critical features of PBIS, and understand the integration of classroom management practices into Tier I. Participants will also learn about coaching and team facilitation roles, use of behavioral data for decision-making, and progress-monitoring for fidelity of implementation and student outcomes. School leaders may participate in this training as the third day follow-up to team training or in advance of team training (e.g.: Leaders participate in Summer Institute and Team participates in Fall Institute). Click here for complete description and downloadable materials.

Tier II Continuum of Groups and Mentoring

This training session is designed to help teams and schools install a Continuum of Groups and Mentoring into their tiers of behavioral supports. Interconnected Systems Framework (ISF)

The Interconnected Systems Framework (ISF) is a structure and process to integrate Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports and School Mental Health within school systems.  The goal is to blend resources, training, systems, data, and practices in order to improve outcomes for all children and youth. There is an emphasis on prevention, early identification, and intervention of the social/emotional and behavior needs of students.  Family and community partner involvement is critical to this framework. Click here for complete description and downloadable materials.
